FAQ

Questions we hear often.

Cannot find what you are looking for? Reach out directly. We are happy to help.

01What should I expect at my first visit?

A new-patient visit takes about an hour. Your dentist examines your teeth and gums, takes X-rays if they decide you need them, and talks with you about your goals. You leave with a written plan and an estimate for any treatment, and nothing starts until you agree.

02Do you take my insurance?

We bill PPO dental plans and file the claim for you, and we tell you before you book whether we are in network with yours. The How fees work page lists each type of plan and how we handle it. Cosmetic work such as veneers and whitening is often covered little or not at all, and we say so before you decide.

03What if I do not have insurance?

You pay the fee for your visit, and we give you a written estimate before treatment starts. Financing is offered by third-party lenders. Approval and terms are set by the lender.

04Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

Please call us and we will answer plainly. The front desk can tell you which plans the practice takes before you book.

05Will it hurt?

We numb the area before treatment, and nitrous oxide is available if you want to feel more relaxed. We cannot promise you will feel nothing, but you can ask for a break at any point and we stop.

06How often do I need X-rays and a cleaning?

Your dentist decides, based on your teeth, your gums and your history. Many patients come every six months. Some need to come more often, for example with gum disease, implants or a large restoration.

07How long does an implant take?

It usually takes several months from planning to the final tooth, because the bone needs time to heal. Your dentist gives you a range for your case and explains each stage before it begins.

08Can cosmetic treatment be undone?

It depends on the treatment. Whitening and bonding can be redone or changed. Veneers need a thin layer of the tooth removed, which cannot be put back, so your dentist goes through the alternatives with you before you decide.

09Do you offer sedation, and who gives it?

We offer local numbing and nitrous oxide, given by your dentist with a trained team member in the room. Our services page explains how we watch over you. We do not promise you will feel nothing. If you want deeper sedation, we refer you.

10What counts as a dental emergency?

Call 911 for trouble breathing or swallowing, or for swelling that is spreading to your face or neck. For a broken tooth, a knocked-out tooth or severe pain, call us and we will tell you what to do first and what we can do.

11Can I get a written estimate before treatment?

Yes. We give a written estimate in advance to anyone paying without insurance, and to anyone who asks. It lists each treatment, the visits it takes and what it will cost.

12Do you see children?

Our dentists see adults. If you are looking for a dentist for a child, we can suggest a pediatric dental office.

13Which languages does the team speak?

Ask us when you book. We will tell you which team members speak your language, and whether an interpreter can be arranged.

14How do I cancel or change a visit?

Call or send us a message through the contact page. We ask for 24 hours' notice where you can give it, so that we can offer the time to someone else.
