Comfort

Comfort and sedation

What we use, who gives it and how we keep watch, so there are no surprises in the chair.

  • Local numbing

The area is numbed before treatment starts. Tell us if it is not working and we will add more.

  • Nitrous oxide

For patients who want to feel more relaxed. You stay awake and can talk to us the whole time. We do not give deeper sedation here; if you want it, we refer you.

  • Who gives it

The dentist treating you gives the numbing and the nitrous oxide, with a trained team member in the room throughout.

  • How we watch over you

A team member stays with you, checks how you are breathing and feeling, and we stop whenever you ask.

  • Before and after

When you book we tell you whether to eat beforehand and whether someone should drive you, and we tell you when you are ready to leave.

  • What we do not promise

We cannot promise you will feel nothing. Tell us what worries you, and we will go over the options and their risks first.

State dental board permits set how deeply a dentist may sedate a patient. Ask us which permit your dentist holds.
